What is a Stage 6 tune?
Stage6 Tuning is the tuning department of Stage6. Tuning parts from engine to transmission, intake to exhaust are constantly being redeveloped, tested and optimized in order to then bring these high-quality tuning components to the market and make them available to everyone.
Stage 6 parts are ultra-rare upgrades that give your car an edge against your opponents. They're specific to each car model - so you can't use a Ferrari 488 Spider stage 6 part on a Ferrari 458 Speciale.
What is stage tuning? A stage represents a set of upgrades fitted as a set. As you might expect, a stage is how far you've gone with tuning part of your car. Stage 2 represents a more tuned car than stage 1.
A stage 1 tune is simply an ECU remap or chip tune. This is the most cost-effective way to modify any vehicle for performance. Turbo-diesel and turbo-petrol vehicles respond extremely well to stage 1 tuning and commonly see a 20 – 40% increase in bhp and torque.
Stage6 was launched in 2004 when the founders decided to develop their own range of parts and accessories to address the lack of innovation on the 50cc scooter scene. 50cc scooter and moped riders loved and apprecciated Stage6 products right from the start.
Stage 5: this would be a custom high compression big bore combination. It includes comprehensive headwork and aggressive cam. Requires larger throttle body & injectors as well as additional supportive mods. Would be considered fuel & tune sensitive.
The "Stage 6" power cuts, the worst outage level on record, require up to 6,000 megawatts to be shed from the national grid and mean at least six hours a day without power for most South Africans.
Stage6 optimized their clutch for heavy use, for drag and track racing alike. The back plate is reinforced, the linings were enlarged and the weight of the clutch shoes was increased. Weights can be added to these shoes to hold off clutch engagement even more. These are now slip-in weights, not screw-on like before.
Like most of Orange's mountain bikes, the Stage is completely designed and manufactured in the UK.
Stage 1 Tune up to 549 HP, Stage 2 up to 585 HP, Stage 3 up to 613 HP.
What is considered stage 2 tune?
A stage 2 tune involves fitting a turbo-back exhaust on turbocharged vehicles or a cat-back exhaust system on non-turbocharged vehicles. In either case, these systems are designed to improve airflow from the engine. They are also well-known for improving the sound of a car.
For a general stock car (i.e. no additional performance parts), a tune will boost your hp by 10 to 15 percent. What's more is that if you've added performance parts to your vehicle such as cold air intake, exhaust, or turbo, the hp boost you gain from tuning may be as high as 50 percent more!
' A 'tune' is a device that will update your car's ECU or computer and give it different instructions on how to deliver power to the engine. You will unlock your engine's full capacity with this tune. It can add 15-30 horsepower and 20-30 lb-ft of torque on most basic cars.
Cold Air Intakes are said to improve your vehicle's performance by 5-20 horsepower. This number will vary depending on the make and model of your vehicle. While this isn't enough power to put you back in your seat, it will give your car or truck a little pep in its step.
Stage 1 = chip tuning / tuning box. Stage 2 = Stage 1 + downpipe, intercooler, sports air filter, possibly upgrade turbocharger / upgrade compressor kit. Stage 3 = Stage 1 + Stage 2 + engine reinforcement, complete exhaust system, modified intake / air flow.
Stage 1 implies a modest power/torque increase over stock. The state of a car after another round of modifications. Typically, stage 2 cars are fully bolted with a tune targeting higher torque and power, plus optional forging.
